Scott Pelley has been fired from his job as anchor of the CBS Evening News. According to a report from Page Six, the newsman had been clashing with CBS News president David Rhodes.

Sources tell us that ‘Poison Pelley’s’ office was being cleared out on Tuesday while the anchor was away on an assignment for the network’s news magazine “60 Minutes.”

We’re told that he’s being shifted permanently to “60 Minutes.”

According to the source, ratings played a role in the removal of Pelley who has been the anchor of the news program since Katie Couric left the show in 2011.

Many CBS Newsers have been downplaying the office move saying that Pelley is moving into a larger office with the other ’60 Minutes’ anchors.

So far, CBS News has yet to comment on the report.
